The short answer

No—you don’t need a separate page for every suburb. A suburb page is worth adding when it gives people in that area useful, accurate information. If the only difference is the suburb name, one clear service-area page may be a better starting point.

What is a suburb page?

It’s a website page explaining a service you offer in a particular area. Think “Air conditioning repairs in Redcliffe”, rather than a general page about the whole business.

Done well, it helps someone decide whether you cover their suburb and can handle their job. Done badly, it’s the same vague sales pitch repeated under twenty different place names.

What makes a local page useful?

Start with information a customer would genuinely want before calling. Only include details that are true for your business.

  • Which services you offer in that area.
  • How appointments or call-outs work.
  • Any real travel limits or conditions.
  • Relevant completed work, if you have permission to share it.
  • Answers to questions customers in that area actually ask.
  • A clear way to request a quote or book.

Give every local page a purpose

Real coverage: Do you genuinely work in this area?. Useful detail: What does this customer need to know?. Accurate facts: Can the business confirm every claim?. Easy next step: Can they find the page and enquire?
If a page adds nothing beyond a different suburb name, combine the information instead.

Can AI write the pages?

AI can help write and organise the content. It still needs a proper brief: your services, actual coverage, booking process and any useful examples you’re happy to publish.

It can’t know your real job history or whether you offer same-day appointments unless you provide that information. Someone must check the business facts before publishing.

Google’s guidance is about usefulness, not banning AI writing. Producing lots of pages without adding value can breach its spam policies. More pages is not automatically better marketing.

Which suburbs should you start with?

Choose a small set where you genuinely work, want more jobs and have something useful to say. Don’t start with a list of every postcode you can find.

Link each page from a sensible service-area section and connect it to the relevant service. A visitor should be able to find it without already knowing its address.

If you’re buying a writing service, ask whether uploading, formatting, images and checking the finished page are included. A folder of drafts isn’t the same as useful pages live on your website.

After publishing, watch whether the pages attract relevant enquiries. If separate pages don’t have enough to say, improve one helpful service-area page first.

Common questions

Can I use the same page and change the suburb name?

That usually gives readers very little extra value. Use separate pages when there is a genuine reason for each one, and include accurate information that helps those customers.

How many suburb pages should I have?

There is no magic number. Start with the areas you actually serve and can write useful information about. A few helpful pages are better than a long list of thin copies.

Will AI-written suburb pages rank on Google?

They may, but there is no guarantee. Google focuses on useful, reliable content. AI writing still needs accurate business facts, useful information and a sensible place in the website.

Do I need a physical office in each suburb?

No, you can explain areas you travel to. Be honest about that and don’t suggest you have a local office or address where you don’t.

ONE THING TO TRY

Start here.

Pick three suburbs you want more work in. For each, write down what a customer needs to know beyond the suburb’s name.
